These roll-out sugar cookies from Linda are great for holidays and decorating with family.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups powder sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 whole egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Extra sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Mix sugar and butter, then add egg and flavorings.
- Blend well.
- Sift dry ingredients with flour, then blend into the butter mixture.
- Refrigerate dough 2 to 3 hours.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Roll dough to about 1/16 inch thickness, then cut shapes and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until delicately brown.
- Cool completely before adding icing or decorations.
