Angel Food Delight dessert

Remembering recipes wasn't easy but this recipe was one of the first to come to mind. It was definitely a staple in our house for a good stretch of the nineties. It was served in a large glass bowl, perhaps a trifle bowl.

  1. In a bowl, mix melted butter, Cool Whip, and powdered sugar together until combined.
  2. Tear the angel food cake into very small pieces.
  3. Crush the Butterfinger candy very fine.
  4. In a serving dish, layer cake pieces first.
  5. Add a layer of the Cool Whip mixture.
  6. Add a layer of crushed candy.
  7. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, ending with a Cool Whip layer and candy on top.
  8. Chill before serving for best texture.

Recipe Summary

I found this recipe in Grandma's recipe box. It was handwritten in her hand writing. Though I can't find the recipe there was also a variation that used Heath Bars instead of Butterfinger. They were both very good.
